Hi everyone,
Since I've gotten my phone I had to 'test-drive' many applications to see which one would be a keeper. So much installing and uninstalling probably left some clutter on the phone, so the question:
Have any of you tried a full reset, reformat, hard reset of your Nokia? What were your experiences, please?
Thanks,
-meny
I install/uninstall loads of apps, so like you I like to clean my phone up, done my 6680 loads of times, no problems, remember to backup your contacts first thou, you'll only forget the once 😉

Cool! Really glad to hear that! So, once I 'format' the phone, what will need to be installed from the original Nokia applications? Will the indispensable voice recorder, file manager, gallery, etc... be there?
Thanks!

The phone will revert back to how it was when you first got it out the box.
The only apps you will need to re-install are those you have put on the phone memory yourself - all others including those nokia put on the phone (& MMC) will be fine.
Also you will lose any preference/profile settings you may have changed yourself, e-mail setting if you have any etc..
Thank you Will for letting me know! 😊
How exactly do you do a hard reset?
Also does anyone know how to update the origional software?
Is it a case of taking it to a nokia service centre or is it possible to do yourself via the data cabe?
Hi,
from what I have found the steps are as following:
1. Switch off the phone.
2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (call answer) button, * button, and '3' button
3. While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the phone
4. When the message 'Formatting' appears on the screen, release all of the buttons
Haven't tried myself yet, please post your experiences.
Regarding system updates, yes, only Nokia can do it reliably.
