First off a quick 'Hello' to all and sundry... followed by a quick 'HELP!!!'
Anyway... My Nokia 7610 has today decided that it wants to be connected to a wired headset... the thing is, it actually isn't... in fact it never has been!!!
This is stopping me from connecting to things via bluetooth as it is asking me to disconnect the wired device... the one that doesn't exist... and just for good measure, I am unable to place or receive calls as it thinks there is a microphone and speaker somewhere else...
I have tried a software reset with the *#7370#, tried a factory reset with *#7780# and just for good measure reformatted with green button, * and 3 pressed... and still when you switch on... the little headphones appear on the top right of the screen and I can do bugger all with it...
Any ideas before I see the phone doctor?
Cheers 🙄
Hello!
have you checked the contacts where you actually connect the headset, data cable etc?
each device that connects there has, exept the pins needed for it(for example the usb cable needs 4 pins for data, but has 6 pins on it) some extra pins that tells the phone what device is connected to it, and this is how it recognizes it. maybe you have some dust or something conductive there...try cleaning it somehow...
otherwize, i don't know what the problem could be...
Hi, I have checked the contacts and they seem clean (unless there is something inside that is shorting).
It's no longer 'connected' to a headset now, so I can make and receive calls, but it thinks it's connected to something, I cannot form a BT connection with my PC or handsfree as it stills says 'Disconnect wired device' first!
Never mind, I am off to the phone Dr in a short while... I'll let you know what they say!
