Mobile Innovation, a leading technology consultant and integrator for the Symbian OS, has been acquired by Macromedia. There's to have been a major drive with web design firms looking to get a foothold in the mobile device market, what with Access' recent dealings. Any theories on why?
Having just listend into a brief conference call the major point seems to be that Mobile Innovation and Macromedia are a natural fit having already been working together for some time. Mobile Inovation as experts in the mobile space who already use Flash technology extensively in their UI design work fit in with Macromedia desire to increase in presnece, and knowledge in and of the mobile space.
Mobile Innovation's developer tools (Try, CodeSacnner etc) will not be affected by the acquisiton. They will continue to be supported, and be available.
