Dear all,
Wondered if you could help me? I've just got myself a new large memory card for my Nokia 6680, and my aim is to be able to put a film onto the card to watch on the train, but I've no idea where to start!
Any tips or direction would be much appreciated...
Cheers - James S.

Hey there.
I've bought Smartmovie and installed on my computer. But first I gather I needed to rip the DVD onto my hardrive - so for this I used 'DVD Decrypter' - which seems to have worked. I now have a folder on my C: drive called:
C:\YOUNG_GUNS\VIDEO_TS
Which contains lots of VOB files. When I play them using media player it works. So I then opened Smartmovie and clicked on the 'Later' thing about the code because I don't have the code yet. I need to install it on my phone to get the code I think but I haven't done that yet.
So I then tried to open one of these VOB files in SmartMovie - but it won't do it. I then downloaded and installed a codec set called 'K-Lite' in the hope that this would sort it but it hasn't.
Any suggestions would be very welcome?
Cheers - James.
Jim,
You could do worse than to get hold of AutoGK (Gordian Knot). This is the easiest way for idiots like me to convert those VOBs to AVIs and it runs with DVD Decrypter in a nice easy to use interface.

It takes a while to convert the VOBs so best leave it overnight.
You then need to run the AVI throught Smartmovie shrinkalizer program to optimize the video quality for your phone.

Chris
I'll download and give it a go thanks...!
Shady.
Hi there!
Thanks for that program mate - it's useful. I can now convert the 7/8 VOB files into AVI files which will then easily open in SmartMovie. It works like a dream.
** BEGINNER ALERT **
I was wondering how I can kind of 'merge' 6 or 7 VOB files now? Can I do that? Or is my film on my phone memory card going to be in bits? Or perhaps when I use the SmartMovie player on my pbone I will be able to set it automatically starts one clip after another?
Cheers - Jim
Instead of using Smartmovie to convert VOB files, use FlaskMPEG to convert the film to a full size AVI file (select the relevant IFO file instead of VOBs) and then use Smartmovie to make it mobile 😊
smart movie converter is a good start
heh... or you can download the movie as an avi... it`s al legal as long as you own the dvd... i think...
Theres an alternative to smart movie too.......USe Nero Recode...comes with Nero Premium or Ultra Edition....USe "Recode DVDs and Videos to Nero Digital".....add ur movie... nero accepts most kind of files.....put the Profile as "Mobile"....Uncheck "Fit to target"...and choose ur desired size and bitrate by dragging the slider....u can even change the audio bitrate......the resulting file is a mp4 file which is easily read by 6680's default player.....
I like the smoothness (No blocking effects) and "aac" audio of nero mp4 file....
