Need help with backing up a 9210i to Windows XP via Keyspan USB Serial Adapter USA-19

I have a Keyspan USA-19 and am trying to connect a nokia communicator 9210i PDA/mobile phone with my laptop through a USB port to backup the data on the nokia to my laptop. The USA-19 is connected to a USB port on my laptop and the serial adapter is connected to a serial cable which is connected to the nokia via another nokia specific port. After initial difficulties I've managed to install the Keyspan drivers on my laptop. The Keyspan adapter is correctly installed for port COM4 and the USA-19 is now recognised by the XP system. The nokia 9210i software says that there is no connection with my laptop. I'm not sure if the problem lies with the USA-19 or with the nokia 9210i. Is the USA-19 compatible with a Nokia communicator 9210i? If not why not?

In another forum someone suggested that the port on the 9210i should be set to COM4. This could apparently be done somewhere in the 9210i software. Can anyone tell me EXACTLY how I can set the communicator to COM4?
Please help me solve the problem.

1) Install PC Suite for N9210i (has been already done probably)
2) In the connection module (the icon is on the taskbar) set connection to COM4
