Updated: Thanks to some incredible generosity by the staff behind All About Symbian and some of our members, we are pleased to anounce that the Sendo Smartphones website is back online!

Original message below:
As some of you may have already noticed, the Sendo Smartphones website has been taken off-line due to excessively high bandwidth usage.

The website is run solely by myself, with no funding from anywhere else (although All About Symbian have been great at helping me out with other things) - the current levels of bandwidth use (33GB last month, 20GB so far this month) are prohibitevly high and are charged to me on a GB by GB basis. These figures mean that the site has been costing around £1000 per month to run, and so I've been forced to shut the site until this figure can be reduced.

A plea for donations a few days ago had no effect - only one member donated (a large thanks to him), and people continued to download at the levels they had been (come on guys, you don't *need* to download the firmwares thousands of times per month), forcing me to take this regretable course of action.

If you want the website back (and believe me, I would love to put it back) and see the multitude of new features we had planned, then I NEED YOUR HELP. It won't cost you much to enable me to keep running the site, but without that help, the site will be no longer!

That would certainly help!

We're working on some other options as well at the moment - I'll keep you all updated.

So i hope i can help somewhat with putting some files on my server... What do you think of it? I have some gb free traffic spare on it.

That's too bad, i can't believe that just one guy make a donation, i was downloading firmware yesterday and i was thinking in make the 5lb donation, and i would like to do it right now. You have done a great job with the site and there is a lot of people that really apreciate it. We all understand the costs that you have. Maybe is time to implement a 5lb membership schema in order to beat all the costs.

Hope to see the site online soon and i am ready to make the donation.

what hosting provider do you have, i live in germany and here it's possibel to run a own server with 1000 gb traffic for only 50 per month,so for britsh about 33.5807 GBP ( at strato.de ). so what's the matter quit your current hosting company and look for a nice provider !

the financiel problem should be fixed if you only use a small amount off advertise..

best regards z3p`

That's all very nice. Don't you think we've been using advertising?

It's nice to see such a large amount of support for the site - pity that some don't apreciate what we've been doing!

Hi guys,

Iam so unhappy to see the site down, only site where you can find downloads for sendo x.

My suggestion would be to charge for downloads ,to reduce the number of downloads .

Implementing a mebership scheme will be good idea

I think charging is not the right thing. I think the help from the community would do it also 😉

Cheers, murphy

The site is still online and yes, the replacement microphones are still available.
