2GB Memory Card trouble

Hello,
I recently bought a 2gb memory card for my A925 however it isn't recognised by my phone. I was wondering if anyone knows anything that might help.

As far as i remember that Motorola support up to 1GB memory cards and it's better to go with phone and check if card you'd like to buy works in your mobile.

would it be possible to partition the card into an active and non active 1gb sections?

Ignore the last post, I just discovered windows doesn't support removable drive partioning.

is it possible to decrease the size of a disk by formatting or any other means?
