hi guys
i think lots of people are having this problem
just got a 6620 from a friend
also i have the Billionton Bluetooth USB adapter Class 1
but i cant a BT connection with Nokia PC suite 6.6
cell works and BT works too
i can send files from computer to cell using the billionton BT software
it willl transfer the fine from computer to Nokia cell phone (it will be downloaded to Inbox folder)
but i would like to use the Nokia Pc suite but wont let me connect
on the nokia pc suite connection manager window shows the Bluetooth(IVT Bluesoleil) option but when i click it
it shows "Cannot use the connection type. Check that all the needed hardware, software and drivers are Available. (Code: Openmedia)"
my pc is windows xp with SP2
i dont know why i can connect using the billionton software but it wont let me connect with NOkia pc suite
bt software is IVT Corp. BlueSoleil
when i pair with bluetooth with my 6620 it works
and i can transfer file both way no problem
and i found out that Nokia PC suite use Serial ports to connect ( i think)
and on my BT software shows only Object Push, File transfer and Dial up connection services are on
Serial port service is not available ( so i guess so far it is problably the cell phone problem)
could anyone teach me how to check the serial port service from the cell phone? or PC ?
and i dont have this problem with the Sony ericsson T610
the serial port service is available
so that mean that it is not the computer
please help thanks
so ? anyone have any idea?
please help me on how to check the cell phone serial port connection
i tried to send an email to Nokia
let see if they will help me
or at least anyone knows if cell phone can be reset or reinstall the OS?
like when we reinstall Windows xP?
thanks
I have the same problem with an ISSC BlueTooth USB Dongle, running BlueSoleil.
I finally got the solution to the problem.
FIRST: Go to Windows Device Manager (right click on my computer, properties, hardware, device manager)
Open Up "Sound, Video and Game Controllers"
Right click on Bluetooth AV/HS Audio
Click DISABLE!
In BlueSoleil, go to My Services, Properties
Uncheck auto-start for AV Headphone and Headset Audio Gateway.
Reboot.
Now Try connecting with PC Suite.
-------------
If this does not work,
UNINSTALL PC Suite
Install PC Suite 6.6.16 (NOT 6.6.18).
If anyone got it to work with 6.6.18, let me know please.

thanks for the help
but i tried your way
and still didnt work
the more info i found the more i believe that it has to do with BT driver and SP2
but still dont know how to make it work
next week i will try to contact nokia again
see if they have any idea on how
hey DJStealth
thanks for the tips
yeah i got it working finally after 2 weeks of trying this and trying that
but like you said
you need to use the nokia pc suite 6.6.16
i was trying to use the 6.6.18 never worked
so i uninstalled like you said and install pc suite 6.6.16
and got it working with the IVT bluesoleil driver
but like nokia told me to use the driver 1.6.1.4 release 050606
but make sure that when you uninstall the pc suite
use the nokia register cleaner or use other like supreme register cleaner
then install the pc suite 6.6.16
i really dont know why the 6.6.18 doesnt work

which billionton bluetooth software you are using?
like i said, i was using the software that came with the bluetooth, this one didnt work it was IVT bluesoleil 1.4.1 or something like that
but NOkia told me that i need to use IVT bluesoleil 1.6.1.4 with release higher than 050606
so i downloaded it and installed it but still didnt work with the PC suite 1.6.18 (newest version of nokia)
but then like DJStealth told me to use pc suite 1.6.16
and it worked
so try to do the same thing and see if it will work

This is the reply i got from IVT......all i need to know now if a 6600 can work with 6.5 or 6.6 pc suite
Hello:
Bluesoleil supports Nokia PC suite v6.5 and v6.6, but not the specific version for Nokia 6600. So sorry, I cannot help on this issue.
And I will record this issue and give suggestions to our leader, hope it can be fixed.
Thank you
Best regards
Bluesoleil support

AFTER this restart your pc and install pc suite 6.6.18 without uninstalling the previous version. The new nokia will install itself over the 6.6.16 and it would connect easily with new nokia.I TRIED IT AND MY NEW NOKIA IS WORKING FINE WITH IVT BLUESOLEIL SOFTWARE.But u stil have to start the IVT SOFTWARE in order to power the bluetooth adapter.
