N70 Sms

Hi people. I just upgraded from a 7610 to a N70 and had loads of texts on my 7610 which I want to move over. I didn't really know how to do this so was playing about with nokia pc suite and came accross the phone broswer and went into my phone and it download all my texts to my PC. I took my memory card out of the 7610 to try another one in it and have lost all my texts apart from a few. I put the memory card back in but it made no difference. All the texts still show up on my computer in pc suite so does anyone know how I can put them back on the 7610 and anyone know how your suppossed to transfer texts over to the N70?😮

have you installed nokia text message editor? it syncs/sends receives texts from your pc/n70

with the N70 attached i can just drag and drop texts between the pc and phone and vice versa using the nokia phone browser - *pop* 😊

Another alternative is to do a back up of your 7610 and uncheck all the boxes except Messages. Then restore the back up on your N70. Worked fine for me when I upgraded from a 6230 to my N70.

(You may need to use the 'transfer from phone to pc'😉

This nokia text message editor you talk about? Is it in PC Suite? Because I cant find it and I looked on nokia website and cant find it there. That is exactly what I want. Can you tell me how to get hold of it?

Without having PC suite in front of me I cant tell you exactly whats it's called in PC Suite. I'm sure it's called 'Write a sms/text message'

I have got the write a text message feature in pc suite but cant work out how to put the messages back on the phone. Also when I tried to back up the messages using the backup feature there was no messages check box to tick. Any further advice would be much appreciated.

Try using the option 'Copy contents from phone to pc', this should give you the option to copy selected items eg contacts, messages etc
