Bye Bye battery !! ....

Hi

I have just got TTM5 for my n70...and all is well...so far......

But boy does it drain the phone's battery...the phone was fully charged this morning and after about no more than 2 hours use with TTM5 the battery is completely dead !!!......

Is this normal ??

I think i need to invest in a car charger ....😉

make sure you dont have a virus. because there are many bluetooth viruses that kill the battery in about two hours

HI !!

How do i check if I have a virus ! ....I have only had the phone a few days and i haven't downloaded anything to the phone other than a few mp3's from my mac !?

No dont worry, You havnt got a virus! I have noticed that my N70 (when running applications) only lasts a day at best! worse than my 7610 and that was bad! Its even worse for phone calls! i have to charge it after every call! its quite bad. You might benefit from buying yourself a spare battery and desktop charger (as i did) and carrying the spare(charged) battery around with you, or buy an in-car charger. Which is ok, but my car doesnt have a cigarette lighter! 😞 Oh well!

HAPPY CHARGING! 😊

You have to charge your phone after every call?

That's nuts, something is wrong with either your phone or your battery.

I can say that this is not the case with my n70. My battery lasts 2 days with calls, sms, and some web browsing as well as using some other apps I have. And this has been consistent with my usage over the past few weeks. I also have my email set to check every 30 minutes from 9am-9pm daily. I'm seeing much better battery times with my n70 compared to my 3650 and 6600.

Signal strength can affect battery usage.

And where did you get a desktop charger for the n70?

OK OK, maybe not after EVERY phone call, but seeing as tho talk time is only 2 hours, it needs a good charge after a 45min chat! Also, CPU hungry apps (pico, ttm5, playing long videos) Drain my battery REAL bad.

When I charge my phone, it dont take long to fully charge (a few hours maybe) Is this the case with everyone else?

The current battery that ships with n70 is a BL-5c. Check for the authenticity sticker on it.

If you're using battery intensive apps you might want to look into buying a BL-6c battery. Slightly larger and about 35% battery life, this might get you through an entire day without charging. It will fit in the n70 as well.

Very strange too hear!!!

Journey of 5 hours and 35 minutes:

TomTom GPS Receiver ran out after just over 4 1/2 hours, so I switched to the instructions mode on the phone, which only lasted another 20 mins..... luckily I had reached an area of my destination that i knew!!!

So yeah, got almost 5 hours out of it??

Hi

Yeah my n70 battery charges very quickly also, It was completeley flat last night, and after only about 1 hour of charging it was full again I thought this was very fast for a full re-charge !

I have an in-car charger for the gps unit so I am just going to get one for the phone and then I'm set for long journeys....😊

I was surprised at that too.... mine charges pretty quick (not actually timed it) but I like the way it bleeps at you when it's charged!!

I've stuck a car charger for the phone, car charger for the GPS and a car cradle on my Xmas list.....

Anyone know the best place to get a car cradle from? Something stylish and reliable, preferably a sucker one!

I got one yesterday from halfords

I am really happy with it ....sucker one !!.....

I will add the link to it on their site when I find it !

that's weird, my recharge is always 1hr! my standby time (24hr) is about 3-4 days. if i do chit chat long enough, i have to charge it every 2 days. previously my 6630 had to be recharged every 1/2 day. i believe it got virus on it.

That would be great.... cheers
Been looking at loads of sites, but they're either really tacky looking or no stock!!
But hey, thats the norm for me where luck runs!

Has anyone actually activated their Symantec Security on the phone....
I'm assuming this is the AV software?
Is it really worth having?

I can't get on the Halfords website at the moment I think it is pooped !

but they come in black or silver , cost 15 I think and fit all phones...

If you get on the Halfords website or visit a store they should have them in....

Rus

Tx Russ, I'll check them out.... I go past one on the way home, but TBH, I hadn't even thought of them!!

Yep, webs ok from my side... they look pretty good for 15 notes, and I'm assuming it holds your phone ok!?

Although the integrated fitted kit looks good too, reduced by 30 quid to 69.00.
And Tom Tom would (I think) spurt out through your speakers.. how cool!

I've got the Nokia universal holder, I was annoyed to find that Nokia do not make a proper holder for the N70 as I have the BT car kit and a no drill bracket in my car.

My previous phones have always had a propers holder for them so I could charge the phone in the car without having to plug the charger in everytime.

Another one of the little niggles about the N70 but I still wouldnt change it for anything else.

Swat, where did you find a desktop charger for n70? I've been looking and haven't been able to find one yet.

I agree on that JB, it is most frustrating.... you'd think that these manufacturers would have it sussed by now, so when they launch a phone, out come all the accesories to go with it.... they could make a fortune if they wanted.
I would prefer a specific one to charge at the same time...

And another thing, it's about time that car cradles came out with a secondary adapter that one could plug the BT GPS receiver into so that could charge at the same time....

Hey sod this, I'm off to design something!!!!

Lol 😃

I know what you mean, my cig lighter has a 2 way adapter on it, 1 for the phone and 1 for gps. Looks like I'm powering a power station from my car. My knackered if my lighter runs out and I need to light a fag 🙄

Exactly my point JB.... decisions decions 🙄
Do I light a fag, or do i charge the phone!

Not only do you have wires everywhere, you have the other half reminding you of the fact every ten minutes of your journey!!! Like you don't already know it looks crap..... but until she comes up with a better solution (Not Map Reading) then she can @#*$$%%*@#

Aaar, I've hidden the wires behind the dashboard but it still looks stupid with the adapter coming out.

My woman doesnt moan about it cause she uses the gps too, still manages to get lost though 😮

That'll be right.... D'oh!!!!
