I had a twinmos 256mb dvrsmmc & it worked great on my phone. last month I boguth a 512mb kingston rsmmc dv.
Phone finds it, formats it. But cant write to it!!! It works in cardreader without any problem. The cardreader can read & write it, but my 6630 only read it.
If I format it via my cardreader (FAT16) then I can write small files to it. Like if i take pictrue with cam it gets saved on the mmc. However If I format it in 6630 I cant even take pics, it will give error, unless its save in phone!
Ive contacted both Kingston & Nokia & they give lame replies.
i delivered it to nokia & had firmware upgraded. It didnt help!
so any help on this issue is much appriciated!
ps: with older firmwware it woudlnt detect the memorycard from time to time. But at least now after firmware upgrade it doesnt vanish!

Have you tried to format it by FAT32? My card started working after FAT32 format on my cpu. After that the phone said "error on the mem.card" and so I ran the format on my phone allso and after that it works. I have 6630 and Kingston 512card to, ur not the only one how has had problems with this set.

I have a pal with a kingston 256 MMCmobile
after 4 days it "forgets" some of the data on it.
I guess kingston + 6630 is a no no
hey guys thats right kingston card did work on my 6630 works well on my sisters N70.

I did what u said. formatted the card fat32. put it in phone. it said memory card currput, format. I formated it in phone. same shit. I cant install sis to it. ..cant copy anything to it either!!
With Nokia switching to miniSD on the new models I guess RS DV MMC is dead even before being produced in large quantity. They trapped us for months and months waiting for large memory cards meanwhile they were already designing phones with another type of memory. THANK YOU NOKIA!

Damn. That way I got my rs mmc dv Kingston512 working. 😞 I hope I could help more. I'll try other things with my card and let you know if I get any results. If nothing helps, I think you should take it to a Nokia Care Center and demand them to make it work, or else! It really should work! At least return the card and get ur money back for a reason.

Sorry mate. I use a ATP 512 card with my N6630 for 3 months now. Works perfectly. Formatted card on phone and no problems since.
Have you tried using another 512 Kingston card on your phone?
