Hi Guys,
Do any of you know if its possible to access the internet on the N70, via a bluetooth connection with my PC?
If it is, how would you go about setting it up? because i can't find any options in the settings area to create one.
Thanks in advance for any help given, 😊

Is there not an app on PC Suite to connect to the internet through your phone? It's on the 2nd row up, 1st column I believe.
i think he meant the other way around, meaning the pc is connected and the n70 uses it's connection via bluetooth. don't know how to do that though...

I see what you mean now I have read it again
Unfortunatly I do not either, I would also like to use my pc's internet connection but havent had the chance to sit down for 5 mins to see if it's possible.
Will post feedback as and when I acheive this.
Yep, LosOutlandos is right, should have made that clearer in my post, sorry Jimbob,
Thanks anyway guys. :icon14:
On another note i've been trying to use a program called GnuBox to do it, may be worth a try for you Jimbob, but I still can't get it to work. Has anyone else used this program to do it and have you had any success?
Cheers,

i found this on the net, couldn't try it though because i haven't gotten my N70 yet. looks promising though...
Sadly, i think that may only work on a PC to PC direct bluetooth connection, but i may of course be wrong. Good work finding it though :icon14:
Can't try it yet unfortunately, have history coursework to be getting on with.
Cheers, 😊

I am thinking about moving from a Windows Mobile 2005 device to a n70, I am a little shocked to read that something as simple as internet sharing is a problem on these symbian devices.
On the PPC using Activesync I can use the internet through USB and BT out of the box. As I understand it right now it is very complicated to share the internet on s60 phones. Has anyone got any further insight, I have been reading about GnuBox as a solution: http://gnubox.dnsalias.org/gnubox/
However, this just seems too long winded, why hasn't Nokia/Symbian built this sort of functionality into the PC Suite tool? I guess I am moving to a n70 because I want something that is more like a phone than a PDA, but still data connectivity is something that is high up on my list of requirements. When I am in the house I want to use the house connection for emails, browsing etc. not GPRS.
I look the same for all the Symbian, i.e, 60 - 80 and 90.
This can be used:

:icon13: But, I did not obtain to make the connection with one 3230.
:icon14: With N-Gage, it rules,(the only one) and I configured of this form:
http://www.russellbeattie.com/notebook/1001649.html
With 9500 it shoul work with Network Bridge from Nokia!
I use usually a 3G connection to the Net in my PC.
I dont now whats the problem, if is the connection or what..
:icon13: But it doenst work either.
To configure the things we can use that one:

If anybody now how to achieve the writh way, I apreciate.
Best regards
I kinda sorta got things working with gnubox but it is far from perfect and requires a lot of fiddling around to get a connection, even then not all applications on the phone will connect to the wonderweb via BT. Hohum.

I think the problem is going to be fixed only when Wi-Fi will be widely available on Symbian phones. At the point using bluetooth for internet sharing will not make sense anymore (in most cases). I tried fiddling with gnubox on a 6630 and I could never manage to get a working connection; and as a side effect now when a Java applet wants to connect to the network the APN selection dialogue doesn't show up and the connection fails.

Just wondering if mobile MSN can be used in N70. I am looking for some ways to connect thru wireless LAN instead of 3G or WAP connection coz i don't need to spend a penny on using wireless LAN. Please help.

Yes, there are "mobile MSN" instant messaging apps (Agile Messenger, etc.) available for the phone.
However, the N70 has no kind of wireless LAN (WLAN, Wi-Fi) hardware, so there is no possible way to use wireless LAN for anything on that phone in the same way as you can't use your microwave as a television, if it doesn't have a TV embedded in the glass door.
But maybe later on I hope there will come a WLAN card that you can connect via popport or bluetooth.
That would be so cool, they have to make more things for the popport instead of only a headset.
highly doubt nokia will invest in that with the n80 n92 etc coming soon woul;d be no point in it for them.also how would you sue the phone with something sticking out the bottom??.hard to use it with just the headset connector never mind a wifi adaptor
I have written a very detailed and step by step guide forum on how to connect internet on N70 via pc connection. jus check it out and enjoy.
