Hi all (nooB alert) nee nah nee nah

I have had my 6600 brick for over 18 months now and I still haven't managed to find anyone who can explain how I can import sound files into the fone so I can use them to indicate who is calling me. ie horse for the missus🙄

common guys put me out of my misery😊

Many ways to get audio/sound files to the phone:

1: Use Nokia PC Suite for the 6600 and its "Phone Browser" to copy the sound files to the phone or its memory card (over Bluetooth or infrared): http://europe.nokia.com/nokia/0,6771,42289,00.html

2: Use Nokia PC Suote for the 6600 and its Multimedia Viewer to conver the sounds and copy them to the phone.

3: Just send the sound files directly to the phone's Inbox using Bluetooth or infrared (and then open the message and save the sound file, if the format is suitable for the phone).

4: Use an USB card reader on the PC to copy sound files directly to the memory card (and then put the memory card in the phone).

5: Send the sound files as email attachments to an email address you have configured the phone to connect to.

6: Put the sound files up for downloading on a web or WAP server and use the phone's built-in browser ("Services" or "Web"😉 or an installable browser (like Opera or NetFront) to download them.

On the phone, sound files used as ringtones go to c:\Nokia\Sounds\Digital in phone memory, or e:\Sounds\Digital on the memory card.

You can also install and use FExplorer (http://www.gosymbian.com) to move/copy files around on the phone.

You assign individual ringtones to callers or caller groups in the Contacts app.

You assign ringtones to profiles in the Profiles app.

wow! thats a fantastic reply thankS😊 :icon14:

I don't think I could face installing Nokia PC suite again.( Lost the will to live last time. )I'll try bluetooth and IR again and have another go at transfering from another phone.
I only need the sound of a horse neighing and a dog barking !:frown: If I could find someone with those sounds on their phones they could send them to me as an attachement I guess
