Hello guys,
Well im new you to the forums, anyways im loving my n70 but there is 2 things that are driving me real crazy, 1st thing is that the *End Call* button closes any app opened at the time you press it, for example while im playing Skyforce, sometimes my finger slip to the *End Call* button, that causes Skyforce to close, and damn that hits on my nerves ;p, Is there any solution for that ? If not from the same phone, maybe there is some ideas ( other than removing the *End call* button physically Razz ) ?
2nd problem ( which hurts slightly less than the first ), the gallery is kinda not top notch, all images goes into Images And Videos, so you can't seperate images and videos each in it's section.. there is also some pics that i dont want anybody to see, i know i can set the attribute to hidden.. but maybe there is a better solution ?
anyways the main thing is that images and videos go together, albums does'nt help, any ideas?
i wish somebody can help me, 1st problem is a pain, 2nd problem is a lesser pain..

I like the idea of the hangup key exiting everything, It's one thing I hope Nokia don't change as it's a quick way of getting back to the start,
Sorry that you don't like it, Maybe Nokia should make it a setting option?
Can't help on the 2nd item, as I'm still waiting for my N70,

How do you set the photos attributes to hidden cant see it on my Orange N70

There are numerous threads with complaints about the gallery and the way it bundles everything together (whether you want in to or not). I've spent some time looking at third-party image viewers and I've come to the conclusion that I am going to fork out for SplashPhoto (by SplashData).
With this viewer you should be able to mark images as Private, and have the choice of excluding private images when browsing on the phone. You can manage the photos on the desktop (and categorise them) then sync to your phone.
Having said this, I haven't been able to run the trial software on my N70 (anyone else?), but the guys from Splashdata reckon they're waiting on a unit to test on etc..

Eh? The Hangup key doesn't exit anything. All running apps stay running. It just returns you to the standby screen for an overview of your phone, etc.
Press and Hold the menu/apps key and you'll see all your programs still running. 😃

erm yes it does, just try it. i was making the same mistake and it made the phone slower and slower until somebody pointed it out to me.
so yes definatly in N-series phones aswell

I disagree, the red hang-up key kills apps from the running task list. I actually prefer this way of running... I used to get annoyed with my 7650 thinking I was exiting apps using the hang-up when all it was doing was task switching. I can use the menu key for task switching why have the red hang up key performing a similar function? Much better in the N70 :icon14: Kill that app! 😃

The hangup button (the red one) DONT KILL ANY APP Running ...
Just you go to the main idle screen, but all apps keep running ...
Just keep pressing the main MENU button you see the app list running like always ... like in any prev s60 nokia phone ..

Without a question the red hangup-key stops running applications - but only sometimes. It depends on what application you are running. For instance while running tomtom, the red key quits the application.
In other words you are all right at the same time - see? :redface:

I agree the only app that it doesn't kill for me is FExplorer 1.15 as this has a confirmation screen. Click the red button and switch back to FExplorer and it's asking to quit 'Yes' or 'No', most other apps however are killed by the red hang up button.

For 1st problem, It deos not kill all applications.. Can try to press and hold the menu button to get back to any application..
For your 2nd problem, try getting FExplorer 1.14. I'm using this version on my N70, it works fine. from there you can set attributes to hide files.. and those files does not show on gallery. 😉 :icon14: I agree the gallery is not that top notch. If you have pictures and videos up t 500+ like me it is hard to view using the gallery. :frown:
Btw, anyone of the N70 users have problem with the Movie program?
When I click it, it will say General: System Error? :icon4:

Some apps stay live when you press the hang up key, some don't!
I have as my 5 standby Apps Weather, Papyrus, Worldmate, Search and Opera.
Now all of these close when I press the hangup button, where as anything else I have in the My Own or Games Folder stay live and can be seen when pressing and holding the menu button.
So my conclusion is that it's not the hang up button, but the App that is at fault here.....
I also found the red hangup button really annoying: when playing hard platform games I often used to press it accidentally and lose my progress.
However I have solved this problem with NoRedClose, which will disable that functionality but will still allow you to hang up phone calls normally.
