Palm Tungsten T and Nokia7650

Hello Folks,

I am trying to get Tungsten T and Nokia 7650 (ver 3.12) to work together.

I donwloaded the latest drivers for Nokia 7650 and bunch of other phones. Here is the URL for interested:

http://www.palm.com/support/downloads/phonelink_legal.html

Bluetooth works OK for dialing and the SMS application, but I failed to establish a PPP session to my operator.

So I tried the IR connnection. That failed too. Not surprisingly, the phonelink application on Tungsten fails to recognize the Nokia 7650, but Bluetooth drivers pass the test.

FYI, Nokia 7650 IR works with OK with my laptop which has Win2K installed

I borrowed a 8310 just to make sure my GPRS settings (APN, password, etc) ARE correct. Yes, with Palm supplied "IR to 8310" driver I could browse Internet, check my e-mail.

I am confused. Is there a problem with the driver, phone firmware, or am I missing something?

I similarly had no luck getting a Treo 90 with the Palm Bluetooth card to work with the 7650.

SMS worked fine but just could not get GPRS session running properly. It seemed to connect fine (could get an IP address) but the Palm apps did not seem to recognise the network connection. Blazer either crashed or quit saying that the connection had dropped. EudoraWeb didn't get far either. Problem seems to be that the connection could not be sustained.

I gave up - I think a 7650-specific driver is needed. Is this available in the update? I no longer have the Treo so can't test it for myself
