Ok I've had my new N70 today and have been playing...I've downloaded a theme (a nice Kylie one!) and the main wallpaper doesn't get updated. It does change the little bit on the bottom, the Camera and Home buttons.
It seems to keep whatever wallpaper was there before and ignores the theme.
a - is there a way around this?
b - within the theme itself can you what that wallpaper is to select it manually?
c - anything to do with being on orange???
1) Go to 'Theme'. Select the one you want
2) Press left soft key - 'Option'
3) Go to 'Edit' and press 'Select'
4) At 'Wallpaper', choose 'USer defined' to select the wallpaper you want.

Everything! (Sadly)
You are witnessing the horror of the orange homescreen.
I take it that you also have a menu bar down the left hand side of the screen too?
You have to change the wallpaper manually, but as orange don't know what resolution the pictures need to be at, Kylie will look like you are looking at her through a bad case of glaucoma......

See?
If you're on Orange, then as Impy has said, you'll have to set the wallpaper manually. I've found the easiest way for me is to go to the Gallery... Select the image you want... View it, then select Options. One of the options will be to 'Set image as Wallpaper'. Obviously, choose this option, nothing will look as though it happened until you back out to the standby screen then you'll see the phone OS tussle with the Orange HomeScreen for a second before the new wallpaper is applied.

If i get the firmware updated at a nokia service centre, will this get rid of the problem or is the orange homescreen always going to be there! :frown:
If the phone is updated with an Orange variant of the firmware, nothing will change. If it is updated with a "generic"/retail variant, then the Orange software will be gone (possibly with Orange network optimization and other features removed, too).
I'll give it a try then 😊
Thanks
