Any Good Themes That Work Well With Active Standby?

13 replies · 12,557 views · Started 30 November 2005

I'm looking for some nice themes that have clear wallpapers allowing Active Standby to work well.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks

I'm using a Win XP theme with a custom wallpaper (I actually cropped a shot from the original XP Bliss.bmp wallpaper). I'm on Orange so my N70 is running the homescreen hence the shortcuts down the left hand side. I think the theme is very clear though and think it would work a treat with your requirements.

Here's a couple of screenshots of my current theme.

Thanks

Theme 1 is clear although a little stark.

As a Mac and Symbian user I don't fancy an XP theme to be honest but thanks.

I like the default but fancy some options.

I've seen loads of Mac OS Themes maybe one of those may suit.

HI!..

My suggestion to you ...

Just go to MangoThemes.com ...

There you will find many themes that work and are really usable themes...

Many categories ... from very classic to very cool looking.. but always usable (so you still can read the user interface, menus, texts, etc.) not like most of the free themes...

You can do this:

1) capture the wallpaper section of your theme (either using a screen capture tool or when you see it on the web while downloading it)
2) put a translucent layer over it to make it say whitish (and blur the picture)
3) upload it and use as wall paper for the theme

Now you can still see the background of the theme you downloaded (a bit blur) and the appointment, meeting, etc will be clear enough in front as well.

For me, instead of putting a layer, I make the wallpaper section translucent and place over a photo of my choice and use this as wallpaper for my theme. now, i can see the picture (not as clear) with a layer of the theme design on top. so, the wallpaper will not look out of place from the theme.

Well that looks much better, do you know the exact size of the image, the bar and the buttons down the bottom?

lol.. didnt see ur post there... i've plugged ur site for you :icon14: 😊

Try the ones I just posted...

I use my calendar and active display every day so I created themes that were to my liking (not too bland) but still legible and clear... I think 😉

I was thinking if I could reorient the active standby shortcuts on the left (like yours) or right side or even down?
Can you please tell me how to do that?
Thanks.

You can't do this with the inbuilt active standby, but it might be some 3rd party apps which can do this. Search for Active screen, or something like this.
