Hello I am very new, really new! , but fascinated with UIQ. I was wondering if i can read more about it; specifically about maybe learning to program for it. Im really not sure whether its a language or a type of technology. Or both.. Im also wondering about the opensource aspects of it.

UIQ is a set of mobile phone software on top of the Symbian operating system to provide a user interface/middleware layer, a bunch of applications, other assorted functionality, etc.
No open source aspects of UIQ directly. It is licensed to mobile phone manufacturers (as source code), but not available for just anybody.
The software development kit (SDK) for UIQ based phones is free and available, and can be use used to create commercial or open source or otherwise free software.
