Phone lookup - ala windows smartphone

Hi,

I'm looking for an application that has the same behaviour as what's available on windows mobile smartphones ie:
1. you're in idle screen
2. begin to type 3(def), 5(jkl) & 6(mno) and it looks-up all names and last names that contain either of the combinations (djm, dkm.... flo...)

With this method, I find people in my addressbook of 700 contacts in seconds

Does this exist? I think i had seen such an app a while ago but can't find it back.

http://www.zicorp.com/qixfunctions.htm looks like what you're after (unfortunately they don't seem to be offering it as a user-installable application, but only for phone manufacturers).

Try ALON Contact Guide Pro. It has most of the feaztures u look for, but it is still a little buggy. (I use version 1.02)
