3650 help please; recovering contact list. phone not powering on.

my 3650 recently was completely drained of battery power b/c i forgot a charger when traveling. from then on, when i plug in the charger, the battery does not seem to be charging. also, the phone does not power on. the first few times, i saw the nokia logo, but now nothing. i tried putting in another battery (which also needs charged), but that is not charging as well and still not able to turn the phone on. any ideas? the phone is out of warranty.

i read some threads about powering up on the "safe mode" and resetting the phone. few questions... can you see your contact list in the safe mode (to make a written backup). and if you reset the phone with #7370#, will it delete the contact list? is pushing the pencil button on the back power up in the "safe mode"? the other way i saw was to press the abc button and power button at the same time.

I really appreciate your help, thoughts and ideas on the matter.

basically, i really need the contact list from the phone and i don't have a backup made. If i take the phone to a repair shop, will they be able to retrieve the contact list? I will probably get another phone soon.

Thanks.

Safe Mode
Safe mode method is just for bypass the startup apps. U can see everything even run it, but some app maybe get closed because of this method (they don't automatically running again after phone start).
Safe mode: Turn off the phone. Hold the pencil key. Turn on the phone. Don't let go the holded key (pencil key) until ur phone completly start or ask u to enter security code.
Yes u can make a backup with safe mode. I think u'll not get msg: "unable to backup 2 file". Because of this file didn't running again (safe mode method).

*#7370#
It's not #7370#, but *#7370#. Not just contacts list will b deleted, but all (msgs in inbox, mail, bluetooth name, GPRS/MMS settings, note) All I can say that u'll get ur phone like new. No contacts, msg, inbox,.. etc. and is recommended that u do backup ur phone 1st to use this function.

Well. as my experience, repair shop could backup ur contact list.
