N6630- getting mail from MS exchange via VPN

2 replies · 2,323 views · Started 08 December 2005

Hi all,

I have been trying to find a email client that can connect to a corporate email server (Exchange 2003) via vpn on my Nokia 6630. Ideally I would like to use something like ProfiMail but despite spending a lot of time searching this forum and other places on the web for sutable solution, I haven't had any success. Does anyone know or have a solution to this problem.

Thanks in advance,

Thor

First and toughest hurdle: Get a Nokia VPN gateway, or at least the Nokia Security Service Manager server product so that you can configure the Mobile VPN client for the 6630:

Once past that, the the rest is relatively easy:

Set up your Exchange server to allow IMAP4 and SMTP from users coming in through the VPN tunnel.

Finally, configure the built-in Messaging app to use the IMAP4/SMTP servers and use the VPN access point (which was set up in the first step). You can also use ProfiMail, if you like.
