I don't know what the message you "txtd" does, but what you need on the phone is your network operator's [GPRS] Internet Access Point settings, a subscription/plan that allows you to use it, and the correct settings from your email service provider (with possibly the use of your network operator's outgoing SMTP server instead of your email service provider's SMTP server).
