Hi all,
Can antone tell me how/where sms/mms etc messages are stored in my N70?
I mean what is the path to their location?
I know that incoming sms goes to the 'inbox' and sent sms to the 'sent' folder etc but how do I locate them with FExplorer?
I created a folder within 'My Folders' called 'Test123' then exited Messaging, opened FExplorer and tried to Find Test123 but cant locate it.
I ask this as it would be nice to be able to move messages to a location of my choice in the phone - maybe even a hidden folder (we all have secrets!!)
Also, is there an app' out there which can automaticly save certain messages to a location (of my choice) based on a specified sender or recipient name?
Hope this post is clear - long night last night!!
Thanks
Message storage
They're under c:\System\Mail in phone memory or e:\System\Mail on the memory card, but you should not touch (read, but not change) the file structure with a file manager. Use the Messaging app or documented messaging APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) in your own program in order not to break anything.
Thanks for that.
Found 'em with FExplorer c:\system\mail...... then a string of folders named :
00001001_S
00100000_S
00100002_S
etc
The first folder above contained more folders (named 1 to f - I guess 1 to 16 in hex) and the subsequent folders were empty.
I guess the later folders would fill up if I left more messages in the inbox?
Each folder (1 to f) contained a message file viewable with Hex/Text Viewer.
Is it not wise to move the lowest level folders (1 to f) to a location of my choice with FExplorer??
Also, what is the path to messages in 'My Folders'
Are there message app's that will let me move messages around without risking damage to the default file structure?
theres an app that will let you hide them from the phones messaging app called smsguard but it wont chage the file structure
Sounds like just the thing- thanks.
Any idea where I can get it (and will it run smoothly on N70).
I've tried searching here (and Google) but no decent leads.
Also picked up on mumsms but it seems a bit expensive.
i think its freeware there isnt a password screen or anything.mods if im wrong please advise
Many thanks

Must admit I was scared of Symbian till recently but now I'm a total convert.
