Just had a pals phone here and we updated his software to 5.20 strangly its not showing the version that tomtom claims is on the update we still have gps driver version 1.2 not gps driver 1.21 who has this same problem?
Just for the going we put the new updated software into my n70 and yes its still loosing the gps when you add the POI speed camera database.
So yet again the web site is telling lies its not fixed for n70.
tomtom 5.20 update
Yer mate same here.. Screenshot on the website shows GPS Driver 1.21 for the update yet still shows V1.20 after installing :frown:
Can you tell me how to add the POI speed camera database. I have looked at pocketgpsworld website and am confused what to download and where to? Do I need the TTGO or TTNavigator download and then what do I do with it when it's on my desktop?!
Sorry - new user here.
Also - is it just me or does the N70 have problems picking up the bluetooth signal from the reciever. It never seems to pick up first time and i have to either re-start my phone or keep opening and closing the application. Sometimes it's quicker to get my map book out which kinda defeats the object!!
Lastly... anyone managed to get the plus services working? TT say you get a voucher in the box to activate it, but from their website looks like all you need is an email address and password. I have an original product and I didnt get a voucher in the box? When I go to traffic from TT on my phone - I enter my email and password to enable it and it keeps saying TT services could not connect to service after about 3 minutes trying to connect.
I'm going mad here and TT wont help.

1. Go to http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/uksafetycameras.php
2. Click the link "Download The Database" which is in the centre of the page.
3. Select SAVE, choose a destination folder on your PC. e.g. C:\SPEEDCAM\ then click SAVE button
3. Using Windows-Explorer, double click the archive file you just downloaded, which will launch WINZIP
4. Click the EXTRACT TO button, accept the default path, then click OK
5. Using Nokia PC SUITE, copy the 2 files
from C:\SPEEDCAM\pocketgps_uk_sc_dec05\single file version\ov2 bmp files\
to MEMORY CARD:\Great-Britain-Map\
6. Launch TomTom and go to the MANAGE POI menu
7. Select the 'Warn when near POI' menu
8. Select ONLY the "pocketgps uk sc" POI
9. Enter the distance in yards or metres for the warning to appear. e.g. 500
10. Select the warning tone. e.g. BELL 1
11. Tick the box "Warn only if POI is on route?"
12. Select DONE
You will now get a visual and audio warning when you approach a UK Speed Camera, but TomTom should still be stable and not lose GPS signal regularly.

Whenever you close TomTom after use, I recommend you to REBOOT the N70.
This way you should not get a problem reconnecting next time you use TT.

I have not used this function but you do have to tell TT which data connection to use - e.g. O2 MOBILE WEB. You should be able to get the relevant settings from your network provider if you do not already have a data connection configured on your phone. The normal GPRS WAP profile does not always work, and the full INTERNET connection settings may be required.
Hope this helps.

2 out of 3!!
Re: cameras - thanks a lot that's much easier than the website. I will try it out on the way to work tomorrow!! Just one thing to mention for anyone else reading this post you only need the OV2 and Bmp files found in that folder. When you said 2 files I was looking around for them!!
Turning the phone off and on again does seem to help... but it's daft you shouldnt have to do that.
Re: Plus services... I'm still lost there and cant ever get through to TT helpline. If anyone else has got it working please post the settings for Vodafone UK.
Cheers
😊
