N70 blank screen please help

5 replies · 5,300 views · Started 06 January 2006

Hi all,

I bought the N70 from ebay 3 weeks ago. It's been working fine for the last 3 weeks. Yesterday it started to give me a white screen when I turned it on i.e I can't see anything but just a blank white screen. Sometimes I can receive call & make call, some other times I can't.

I took it to the Nokia center but they asked for the proof of purchase otherwise they'll charge around 150$. However, I bought it from ebay and the receipt was not included when got delivered.

I really need help badly. Anyone please help me ASAP.

Thanks & regards,
voki

Only guessing but have you tried re-seating the SIM and memory cards etc, and making sure their contacts are clean? Another guess, but as you bought it off Ebay I assume you put your old SIM in it, but do you know if that SIM is compatible with the N70? Im not sure if this is actually an issue or not but I know my provider sent me a new SIM with the phone even though I kept the same number etc.

First of all, it's a new SIM. I got the SIM from the 3 shop after I got the N70 from ebay. All has been working fine for the last 3 weeks (since I bought the phone). Secondly, I've tried to re-seat the battery + SIM + memory card. Thirdly, I took it to the 3 shop and swap a new SIM to the phone, and my SIM to the other phone. My SIM was working fine with the other phone, but my phone didn't work with the new SIM either.

Anyone please kindly help

do you have any warranty with the phone you bought from ebay?

is it covered under the paypal protection scheme? sounds to me like a unit that needs returning from where it came.

the ebay/paypal receipt should be good enough. cpw nsc took that for my 6630 firmware upgrade.sounds like thats all you need, a firmware upgrade

I transfered money directly into the seller's account. It was not paid via paypal. I printed out the auction item to prove NSC but they didn't accept it.
