just got one of these off ebay which was on Orange. When I put in my PAYG orange sim card there is no network covergae. I have done a hard reset but still doesn't work. Any ideas?

mine just died so i'm going to attempt to do this from memory...
in tools, settings, under network, check to make sure you're on the correct one. i'm in the us and we have sprint/uscellular on cdma/dual, while tmobile/cingular and others are on gsm.
i'm guessing orange is on gsm so just check.
when i got mine it was on dual. so i got calls, but no text then i changed it and voila.

A few ideas;
Try logging onto the network manually to see if there is an issue with the radio interface (you should see all networks that have coverage where you are. )
If it isn't SIM locked, try another SIM (rather than shelling out money and finding it's bust!)
Is there a chance the handset may have been stolen. If so, then it could be blocked (see this link http://www.gsmworld.com/using/security/index.shtml ) If so, according to this, it shouldn't work on any network.
