Here's how a black Nokia N70 looks like 😊
The back cover which came with the black front was
silver, with a black lens cover. I chose to keep the
dark grey battery cover, and use the black lens
cover, the result was an all black Nokia N70..
The black cover is not original Nokia, but looks and
feels very genuine.. 😊

Im awaiting delivery of a case in the reverse colours of the original one, ive had a look, but i cant see how to easily get off the camera cover (top rear) of the phone, on the 6680 it was 2 simple clips, but not so on n70.
Could you advise please.
And i think it looks great all black, may go that way myself, or have black front and slider, silver underneath, cant decide yet.

i was gonna do that... but realised the "black" bit where the camera is is actually kinda grey.. so it didnt look right.. I only changed the front in the end..
"Look right" is a relative thing! 😉
To mee the neuance between the black and the dark grey is just awesome,
and is anyway much much better than dark grey and silver/ebony estethically,
in my opinion!
Another thing is that the phone actually looks more compact due to the dark
color, and the new sliding lens cover fits really nice and doesn't make a
single squeking sound like the original cover did..
I would like to change mine to all black but I would want the keypad and screen bezel to be black as well,
Would be nice if Nokia bring out a black version, I don't like using non genuine parts, never the same quality,

Regarding non genuine parts I mostly agree with you, this cover though is
in my opinon of very good quality..

I have a cover which is ALL black, including the bezel and keypad.
It does look cool I must admit!!
I got it off E-bay for £4.99!!! LOL!!!
It was delivered from Hong Kong and arrived in about 4 days!
You also get a little tiny screwdriver with it.

My cover is exactly the same as the original, it has the Nokia logo and N70 embossed on it etc.
This is a sample of the rubber one - I am going to order this next!
(The guy I bought it off in Hong Kong is excellent and quick)

So i dont have to remove the camera cover to remove the front? How do i get the front off? i have seen that thread, but im still stuggling to see how, and the last thing i want to do is damage the original casing.

There are lot's of replacement covers for the N70, just look through e-bay or
the site I bought mine from. www.blueunplugged.com
I don't know if you're under the impression that the one I bought is not of
good quality just because it's not original Nokia. Let me tell you one thing,
there are, and will ONLY be the two original colored covers from Nokia,
white and silver. Everything else is not original.
The one I bought looks and feels really nice, and has the N70 logo printed
on top left, and the NOKIA logo pressed into the aluminium frame around
the screen.. Also it is of very solid material because all the squirking sounds
which I had on my original N70 cover are now gone.
You can also get this one with the back cover/lens sliding cover
in black so that you don't have to fuzz around and switch the lens-sliding
cover.
The one stockie has bought does not have the aluminium frame and has
black keys, aswell. In my opinion the aluminium fram around the screen
of the N70 with the silver colored keys are the characteristics of the N70
and what "makes" the N70. The combination of this with black cover
is just awesome.
But again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.. 😊
I bought non original covers from ebay and internet shops for my 6680,6600 and 7610 but all of the were scatch easily. after 3-4 I was buying the original one. Please tell us if happen the same and to you .... 🙄
Anyone knows of any other ways to protect the aluminium frame around the screen, beside using a silicon case? THAT's the part that get scratches easily (mine is a disaster already!!). = (

It's honestly really easy, I did it by 'accident' the other day. Take the back cover off. For the front there are 4 clips, 2 each side at the top and bottom, with a finger nail (or a screwdriver if you're brave) gently pull the silver plastic away from the body, you will see the clips almost immediately, you need to pull about 2mm away from the body, it's quite stiff but eventually it will pop out, repeat for each corner, easy.

anyone know where I can purchase the original official nokia covers. i have bought two red covers off ebay and find the back cover will not sit right on the phone. so when I try and pull the slide down to use the camera its not catching the trigger!!
