aaaarggggh - Memory card??

I had the exact same problem with my 1st N70, it never worked correctly from day 1 so i had it replaced. My card worked in other phones and readers but no card, including my own, worked in my phone.

I'm afraid it looks like you need to get your phone replaced. I contacted Nokia Service Centre originally and they advised it couldnt be fixed and should be replaced.

Have you tried the standard memory card problem fixing methods:

1. Wipe the contacts on the memory card.
2. Blow really hard into the N70's card slot.

Re-try memory card.

Sorry, don't want to sound patronizing but are you sure you're inserting it properly?

You need to push the card in with your fingernail til it clicks (the phone, not your fingernail). This is what retains the card, not the silver outer hatch, which is really just a dust cover.

I had exactly the same problem. I got a new memory card from Nokia Careline.

Thanks for responding. I took out the card and blew in the slot etc - nothing, it still didn't recognise my card. so I turned it off and back on - nothing.........

In a fit of temper, I swore at it (yes, my phone has a male gender!! lol!!!) AND SLAMMED it down on the table...........

Funnily enough, it now works!!!! LOL!

If in doubt give it a clout!

Did you try to format the memory ?
Follow this steps ( :icon4: You will lost all in the memory but the phone will recognize the MMC):
1.- Go to Menu (left botton)
2.- Click on "Tools"
3.- Click on "Memory"
4.- Click on "Options" (left-upper botton)
5.- Click on "Format mem. card"

This will erase the memory card, then I recommend turn off and turn on the mobile phone. To test, make a picture and save it in the memory.
