I thought my phone needed to be unlocked, but I took it to a phone shop and they said it is already unlocked. He said it wouldn't boot up to the menu at all if it was locked to another network, but it says "simcard registration failed" then "phone will restart". Is it locked or not I wonder? Has anyone seen this before? I tried searching forums with "registation" as key word but got nada. Hope someone can help, thanx
Jeff
The registration failure may also mean that the phone is broken, or the SIM card is broken, or the SIM card is not valid any longer.
Borrow a SIM card from a friend or relative and try it in your phone. Do you see the same error now or does the phone work with the other SIM?
Try your SIM card in another phone. Does it work there, or fail in the other phone, too?
Those two simple excercises will tell you whether you should blame the phone or the SIM card.
Must be the phone since I have been using my simcard all along. So the phone is not locked, but broken when it has that msg?
I just booted it up holding the pencil button and it started working. Not sure why tho, but I don't care. Now I need to figure out how to get it to use my Tzones. Does anyone know how to configure it to use tzones like my 6600 can?
