Weird N70 problem...

Hi everyone,

I bought N70 couple of days ago and I am experiencing a weird problem. Here is the story:

After I bought the device, I noticed that pressing NO key (the red one) closes applications. For example when on contacts, pressing no brings you to standby screen but also closes contacts application. It doesn't show up on the runing programs list. There were a way around it like pressing menu key in contacs brought the menu but didn't close contacts. You can switch it from the running programs list. I thought that it was something to do with the firmware. At first the device had version 2 firmware (unbranded, generic). And this problem was in every application, from built-in apps to 3rd party apps.

Then I decided to get the device flashed to version 3 (also generic). After that, some built-in applications no longer had this problem but most of them and the 3rd party ones do.

Anybody with either version of firmware experienced this? I tried it with contacts, log and netfront 3.2, 3.3, fileman 1.03

Any comments?

Note: I use this NO key because for example when I browse the internet I sometimes receive message and like to reply without closing the browser. Just leaving it on the background...

With the N70 (S60 2nd Edition, Feature Pack 3) the behaviour of the red/NO key changed, as you discovered.

That is, previously it did leave the app running in the background, but on the N70 and N90 phones, it closes the app. On those phones, if you need to leave the app in the background, use the menu key to switch first to the main menu or with a long key press to another running application, or with two consecutive short presses to the standby state.

Thank you N/A. So it's a new thing with Feature Pack 3. I must say I'm very relieved. I thought something is wrong with the device.

Do you or anybody else know what else is changed like this functionality of red/NO key on Feature Pack 3?
