Has anyone had any luck in changing the opertor logo on an N70? I tried before when I had my 3 variant firmware to no avail but I assumed it was something 3 had disabled. Now I have tried with the generic firmware but still having no sucess.
I am following the instructions for other Series 60 phones, creating a C:\system\apps\phones\oplogo folder and placing a 97x25 pixel BMP image in there named XXX_XX_0.bmp where the Xs are the MCC and MNC of my network but it doesn't work. I've also tried using the 'Set as operator logo' function on FE Explorer, but this again does not work.
Has the operator logo location or method of changing been updated for the N70? I can't find anything on Google about it.

Hi I've got the latest generic firmware on my N70, I'm with Vodafone and I have an operator logo working. It is 97 x 25 pixels in colour in the format you have stated.
the only thing I've noticed is that once you set the operator logo with FExplorer you have to switch off then on the N70 before the logo is used.
Does anybody know how to make an operator logo with a transparent background, I've tried using a gif but it doesn't work on the phone.
Use this link. it has a transparent logo. Used it and works fine on my vodafone N70.

i think you have to create the folder or have it created for you when you use fexplorer to set a operator logo

yes.done it myself.got a full colour picture of the o2 logo instead of a plain txt black & white one
Read the stuff on 'symbian-freak' and tried the clear blank logo - works fine.
Haven't got around to making a nice, clear backed, Voda logo yet.
I know this is a lazy ask but has anyone made any decent op logos that they are willing to post (or email)?
Are there any good ones around to download for free (excluding Chinese pandas/teddys with hearts, in black and white).

From my experience on Orange with my 6630, Orange seem to be overriding the operator logo, anyone know if this is the case with the N70?
Cant seem to change op logo on my 6680 with vodafone firmware, tried using opman, fexplorer and doing it manually but to no avail, any ideas?
Ironically I can change the operator logo on this Orange N70 it's just that I can't see it unless I'm making a call due to that infernal home screen!

Newbie to the forum. I have an N70. Was badged as Orange with their awful amendments.
Glad to say that I flashed the phone to the 18Nov05 Nokia-ness!!!
Although my phone is working fine with no apprent traces of Orange anywhere to be seen, I am today in Switzerland and discovered a new problem and I wonder if anyone can help me. I have been unsuccessful at making a BMP operator logo because no matter what I do with FE, the phone still has the text saying Orange as the operator. So I gave up. However, out here, I am using Swisscom as the network and I manually roamed for it because it is a 3G network. Trouble is the phone still says Orange as the operator irrespective of the network I select. It looks like Orange embedded the operator logo somewhere and im damned if I can find it.
Any help in locating and killing it would be greatly receaived and another blow for those tango-ed phone warriors (orange lol)

This is the problem I had on my 6630, Orange had embedded the op logo or I should say overridden it as sometimes my logo would appear for a couple of hours or so then revert back to orange.
How weird, this is exactly the probelm I am having, actually why I started this thread in the first place, but I'm on '3' in the UK!
No matter what I do with my OP logos, using FE Exploer, doing them myself, whatever, they never appear on the screen. I've had the phone flashed to generic firmware but still they don't work. Rather bizzarely though, when I am in certain places and I make a call, suddenly my personal logo pops up, but as soon as I hang up the call, it reverts back to the standard text.
Utterly confusing.
I cant set the op logo on mine either 😡 Its a T-mobile and im useing the same logo i did on my old 3650 and 6600 . explore says operator logo changed and phone will restart but the old tmobile logo is stiil there . Any more help ?
