Text message problem

Hi, im on vodafone and i have a friend on T-Mobile but if i send him a text message he never receives it, any ideas on what to do? he has phoned T-Mobile and got a totally useless answer telling him to select vodafone as his home network :con?
its not just me his sister is on vodafone and also cannot text him... im still waiting a reply for vodafone

Tell your friend to change the network settings to manual and select another network, it wont allow it but do it anyway. The select t-mobile and the messgaes will start coming through. He can then change the settings back to automatic if he wishes.

Hope this helps.

thats what tmobile told him, but when he tried it the manual search only showed t mobile? he is on pay as you go and the phone i assume is locked to tmobile so would it show other networks?

Should show any available networks in the area.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago and that sorted it out. The other thing might be that t-mobile have put a block on his account, you just need to speak to someone at t-mobile who knows what they are talking about, very rare but there are a couple there.

Is he receiving text from other networks? I would be more than happy to text the other person from my t-mobile phone if you pm me his number.

he can get texts from all other networks fine its just vodafone.. i`ll get him to try the manual scan again tomorrow and see what happens
thx jimbob

That may not resolve the problem if he can receive sms from other networks then.

I've never heard of this problem before, I'll do some research and see if I can find anything for ya.

well i went through it this morning with him, it came up with tmobile when he did a network scan but his phone only shows one network on the screen at a time and doesnt give you any options to change networks but if u push the arrow keys you can cycle through them 🙄
anyway selecting vodafone worked so thx for the help jimbob
