A new Nokia 3650 Site!

13 replies · 3,433 views · Started 19 November 2002

Hi guys,

We are putting together a site aimed squarely at the Nokia 3650 (www.nokia3650.com) which we are aiming to have up by the end of December. We have one or two surprises up our sleeve but we would like to hear from you about what features you would like to see on a 3650 site? What info do you want available? What are your WAP habits? Would you use photo/sis storage?

We have the community forum up and running now at Nokia3650 Forums so please, drop in and let us know your thoughts.

I've posted a quick message to your forums, but thought I'd respond here too.

Its great to see other Symbian website appearing and I'd like to say welcome to the Symbain web family. I'm sure you'll find that it is one of the friendliest around. If we can do stuff to help, let me know.

Rafe

Thanks for the support and for stopping by Rafe 😊 I've found the entire Symbian Community friendly, informative and helpful, we hope to continue that tradition at Nokia3650 Forums.

We will keep you all informed of our progress and plans as they develop.

Thanks again

Simon.

it's now january and even the forums are still down. i did register for them but they were so quiet. i would love to see the site up and running though - dedicated to the 3650... could b good!

We are back up and running with the forums now. We suffered the same fate as the AAS forums when barefooting had their problems 😞

We are a little quiet at the moment I agree, and it is something we will be addressing over the next couple of weeks.

Although there is no visible sign, work is progressing on the main site quite well. We decided to go with VBulletin for the Forums as we both felt it offers the best forum environment available, but it does mean integrating a PHP forum with a .NET CMS, which although fun, is quite challenging and taking a little longer than we had both hoped 😊

We have integrated a Points system into the forum that gives you points for posting, starting a topic, referring friends etc. You will be able to spend points to both enhance your forum experience and download midis, backgrounds and screensavers produced by our very own in-house digital artist from the main site. You should be able to start building your points from Monday [bribe] and we will be giving everyone who is already registered a bonus 2000 points as we bring it online[/bribe]

We hope to see you soon 😊

Yep sorry about that 😞 We managed to get the Db merged back but most of the hacks that we added to Vbulletin were broken. I'll be fixing that over the next couple of days so I might have to clost the forum for short spells during that time.

Thanks guys, I hope you all enjoy it when were are finally up and running properly.
