SOS 9.x: UID & Plat Sec confusion

Hi,

I have been going through various documentation about the new UID system
; docs in the sdk and on symbiansigned.com I am pretty confused as my
sis file is quite complex and the new system of prot/unprot UIDs,
provate directories, etc. is causing more confusion.

I would appreciate it if someone can clear the confusion in my case. I
am using my DevCert to sign the sis file, my Cert has all capabilities
except the phone manufacturer approved capabilities.

In my sis file I need to have 2 apps (exes now) and around 4 or 5 true
exes. One of the apps has to be added to startup list management.

On the older platform exes did not need UIDs, but from what I have read
is that on the new platform all exes need a UID. Is that correct? Do
they need unique UIDs (not my same as my app UIDs).

All my apps and exes need to access (R/W) one config file, they need
access to a couple of private (to our solution/sis) directories. I also
have one DB and some extra data files that both the apps and exes need
access to.

Where should these data/db files be installed to? Where should the
directories be created.

In the MMP and pkg file, how can we specify extra UIDs for both the apps?

Do SID/UID3/VID come into the picture or play a role in my scenario?

Thanks in advance,
AMK
