I have a n gage and for some reason it keeps thinking the headphones are in..it comes up with the handsfree symbol at the top right and due to this no sound is played through the device:con? ne1 know whateva i can do to fix this..iv tried factory restore and all that please someone must know somthing..it must be a software faul so there must be a way i can update the software through the data cablee???:con?

Clean the headphone connector with compressed air or something. There'd probably some sort of a switch in there stuck due to dirt, or something.

narr i actually opened it up one time and took the actual socket for the headfone out and it still have the same problem
Then its likely to be a hardware fault. This did happen to me and eventually I sorted it by plugging and unplugging many times. Or it could have been something esle. I just noticed it was no longer in headset attached mode.
Otherwise you need to visit the Nokia Service Center
problem is that it sometimes comes back on randomly...say your playin on a game and the battery dies out the sound will cme on for a few moments den go off agen..wha kinda hardware fault coould cuase this...it must easily fixable???:con? i tried unlpuggin n plugin in the headunit buh thats not workin either:con? i remember when it started first happenin id just turn it off den on and itd work agen or just plug n unlplug the headunit once and itd be fine...weneva dis problem occured before
