CRAP N-Series Gallery

Yes thats indeed a pitty. I copied all my photos from my 6600's MMC card to the RS MMC card. Its about 750pictures and maybe 30video's and it took more then 1minute to open the gallery. Now I only got the best pictures in my phone only. Thats a pitty when you have a 1GB card with free space for a lot of photos but stuffs everything up in the same dir.

Is there no way of sorting anything out in FExplorer?

Another feature I missed from when I had my 6230 was you can press 0 and it'll select a file. With my 6600 you had to select them all singly and go to Mark>mark

Are you able to just press 0 with the N70? (mine arrives tomorrow 😊 )

Zensis photorite is a good app to view your pics very very quickly:icon14:

You can hold down the pencil key to mark multiple items.

you can hide certain pictures from the gallery but other than that you'r stuck with having all your photos& videos open when you open images & video.

Hmmm... I held it down and it did nothing! Does this key actually do ANYTHING?! 😕

yes in symbian apps e.g. the gallery messeging,things like that & 3rd party apps if they include support.alos in messaging it brings up menu's for copy cut & paste,& whether the dictionary is on or off

Totally agree!!! NOKIA FIX THIS!!!! I don't want my mother to see pictures of me and my girlfriend while I show her the pictures other stuff!! 😉

aggre with you on it slows the phone down & that there should be a way to seperate them e.g. the albums should be more active/useful. but not exactly a regression since now we have thumbnails for vids😊

Why should I be burdened with spending time on moving pictures when this is somehting Nokia SHOULD FIX!!?

In the camera settings I specify it to place the pictures in a specific folder,
let's say the folder "FUN", and what happens? Nothing!! The phone does
NOT create that folder, and if I create it manually it doesn't matter the
pictures are all stored in the standard "Images" folder either on the
MMC card or in phone memory dependig on what you have chosen.

And thats not all, why the H#"%%"#�LL does the gallery application
have to scan the whole memory card for images?? It severly slows down
the performance of the phone/gallery function.

For example all my TomTom Mobile POI's in the map catalog of TomTom shows
up under Gallery. Why the H%"#�#"LL would I want or need this???

I love this smartphone, still there is no such thing as perfect, and this is
just plain stupid, and NOKIA should fix this!

I suppose this was deemed easier for users who don't understand or care about folders/directories and subfolders/subdirectories, or even the concept of files.

For such people it probably makes perfect sense for the Gallery to just go and find everything and show it regardless of where things are.

Of course, it is unfortunate that for others (like me) who don't appreciate this type of "helpfulness". However, I suspect amongst all phone users we are the minority and the "others" the majority (and they're not here, either).

It would be better if the application was smart enough to support both types of users. In this case it isn't.
