Advice on N70 backlight buzzing?

6 replies · 2,303 views · Started 30 January 2006

Hello,

I'm hoping someone can advise me here as I think I'm going mad.
I bought a Nokia N70 and noticed straight away when the backlight is on there is a low buzzing type hum in the earpiece, which stops as soon as the backlight goes off.

As I had the phone less than a week O2 swapped it for another new phone, but this is doing the same thing, I'm begining to wonder if its normal with these phones and I'm being too picky. :con?

Has anyone else come across this or does anyone know if its a fault? I thought I'd ask here before I send back another phone. 😮

Any advice greatfully recieved.

Thanks in advance

I have not heard any buzzing, and as the guy above states, i always have full brightness set on the backlight.

Good luck sorting this out, and are you SURE it was a swap on the other phone, not just the same phone formatted and set back to you?

Hi sToKiE,

Yes, it was definatley a swap as the carrier brought one phone and took away the one I had here at the same time.
I found the level of brightness makes no difference to the buzzing, just buzzes all the time until the backlight goes off, then its silent, if you touch a key to make the backlight come on again, the buzzing starts up again. 😡

Phone number three is now on its way, or so O2 have told me today, but this is still all a bit frustrating, you expect a new phone to be fully working and without problems, this is the first Nokia I've had in a long time and is close to becoming my last. :icon13:

Hello. I bought N70 two weeks ago, and I had the same "problem" with buzzing. I think it is some modulation on the ligth, but I think it is normal thing, and it is not fault. I am not even noticing it any more😊.

Just to update you.

Three seperate people on the O2 fault department have now confirmed to me it is a fault and they have known of other instances as well. :call2:

They said I must be really unlucky to have got two with this fault on the trot, so are sending a third phone out to me now, here's hoping its third time lucky. :dontknow:

If the third ahs the fault I'm going to opt for a non Nokia phone, as I'm not impressed so far with their product. :banghead:
