Umm... This IS boring but ...

Are there any good and Compact E book readers out there?
I presently have Mobi Pocket reader..but it takes up like 622 Kb  which is a rather too big file for a E book reader( but has good features though, in the Pro version).
Has anyone tried Handybook? How much space does it take? Any other applications out there apart from these two?

Thanks

Not having the chance to buy Handy Book (i don't read e-books, not to mention regular books!) I downloaded the trial (to figure out how many space it takes) it was just 30 kb, but does the trial differ from the original in terms of space? I have no idea.

Try to search the software directory in AAS (all about symbian ) :P but i think the only available e-book readers are the two you mentioned.

HandyBook takes about 75Kb. Quite small compared to what you use.
And uses palm doc format books. I like it. but have not tested others 😊

Where can I get the Mobi Pocket reader for Nokia 7650 that you are using? I've search using google and the nearest result is this: http://www.mobipocket.com/en/HomePage/default.asp
Is this the correct place? I don't see a Mobi pocket reader apps for Nokia 7650 😞 please guide me..

thanks

Daniatt

That is the right place. However, this is the right page of the site http://www.mobipocket.com/en/DownloadSoft/DownLoadReaderStep1.asp

You will have to select 7650 as pda platform as download the software.

Make sure u have the PC SUIT RUNNING and CONNECTED BEFORE U INSTALL the software (since this software will install the application on the phone directly)

Download any E book of your choice to the computer (there are a quite few good titles available for free), and double click on the li'l icon and the book will be sent to the phone (Have the PC suit running for this)

😃

PS: Download E Books in Doc Format.

sanjay,

Thank you so much for taking your time to lead me to the proper page to get the reader installation file for 7650 😊

Also, thanks for the complete guidance on installing it 😊 will follow your instructions.

Again, thanks so much

I think that 622 Kb for a reader program is just a little bit too much 😊
Could someone post screenshots of it here? I dont even wanna install
it, but i am interested. Just browsed thru the mobipocket.com but
there was not 7650 screenshots. 😞
I think i will stick to HandyBook.
Tried also sViewer from symbianware. Its quite good too. size installed 52Kb.
Can read any file on 7650. but not doc books. 😃 great !

Yeah, it certainly is on the highier side of the size.

But the features i like the best on this are, the auto scroll (a real blessing), change the to "panorama" for a wider screen(90 degrees) which is good too, and then ofcourse, opening the last read page automatically, without user intervention of anysort. We can also change the background, font cols, etc. Pretty good all in all (But still dont think the 622 is justified)
I have'nt really tried others, and donno if they have these features amongst others they might have.

As for the screen shots, there are'nt any on the site. I will try and post a few here shortly.
Meanwhile, a li'l detail of the usability and features (and screen shots if possible) of sviewer and handybook would be greatly appreciated.

PS: Any of them freewares? ( Mobi basic is )

Hi,
Tried to install it (Nokia PC Suite & 7650 are connected via Infra) but installation failed 😞 because not enough memory aargh...

I'm reviewing which freeware games & software to remove and retain full versions programs.

Will inform ASAP and send screenshot afterwards...

Thanks for the time 😊

Similar Problem as me 😃 . I had to remove Cell Halma, which had expired ( but will work when installed again(thankgod) its a nice game)

But yeah.. the reading has been worth it!! Me presently reading Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, and have "Call of the Wild", "The Tempest" " Julius Ceasar"..and a few other to look forward to.

Happy Reading
