when i click on a video in my gallery, it starts playing in the pVplayer application, and this application doesn't seem to be able to play videos on my N70 very well at all, it is VERY jumpy and only plays about 2 frames a second.
but if i load the Real Player application, then play the same video using that, it plays perfect as it should do.
and my dad's N70 does exactly the same as mine.
my N70 is on Orange... a mate bought an N70 on 3 network the other day, and when he loads a video from the gallery, it loads in Real Player unlike mine, so his videos always play properly.
so how can i make Real Player the default application for playing videos?

Cheers.
Hi, sorry if I'm wrong (as I dont have the orange version), but you should be able to uninstall the pvplayer through the Application Manager
I have tested several video apps, like pvplayer and smart movie. Uninstalling always pointed files back to realplayer
Hope that helps

pVPlayer isn't in the application manager to uninstall it :frown:
wish i could
sorry to hear that...must be in orange firmware. 2 options I can think of...
1
Best thing I've done for my vf N70 was visit nokia centre and upgrade to stock nokia firmware.
Apart from "non-tampered with" firmware benefits, Real Player is default player. Tomtom works great for me now as well.
I even find the Goto menu useful now. After upgrade was just Cal, Msg and Notes, not endless (useless 2 me) vflive links.
Be sure to backup first of course..firmware upgrade will wipe your fone

If you dont mind a filemanager rather than gallery (i personally find the gallery horrible), try Fileman ver 1.03
Allows you to assign any extension to open with any app, but only within fileman. Also lets you create shortcuts to folders (pen & any key) so you could point to your image/sound/docs/inbox folders. Really quick and easy once you have set it up.
Became my right softkey app once I found these features..lets me open txts with notes or mobiword for example. Will let you do what you want but just from inside fileman.
Cool..have fun dude

Hi there
I have downloaded fileman and its great however even if I hide the file or folder I've got private pics in the gallery still finds them when I go into it. How can I stop this? It's embarrasing when I'm trying to show people other stuff to have to sift through my pics etc

The hiding will work if you do it properly. See my tutorial here on AAS:
