9300 Ringtones

Hey all,

Second post in as many minutes, but as it is a different subject, I thought that it was worth splitting them up.

Anyway,

The pre-loaded ringtones on the 9300 are pants! Rather than pay all of my hard-earned wages to some rip-off merchant selling songs on the Net, can you use your own music (CDs etc)? I presume that the 9300 uses WAV files or something similar but it doesn't seem to want to accept MP3s. Suggestions/information or even a link to a genuinely free ringtone site would be great.

Just download any .WAV or .MID or .MP3 off the net or ripped from a cd.

I'm always amazed when I hear about people actually paying good money for trivial things like ringtones and such... Last time I paid for something like that was for an operator logo on a Nokia 5110 I think it was.

Hi Raven,
Thanks for the prompt answer. I had tried MP3 but when going through the ringtone setting option in the Control Panel, it wouldn't let me. Just tried it again and it worked. How stupid do I feel now??????

BTW, I refuse to pay for any additional bits for this phone. It cost enough to start with. For the money they make, I would have hoped that Nokia would have bundled more apps or had freeware on their site to download!
