Nokia N70 Problem (Shortcut to Internet not working!)

4 replies · 1,890 views · Started 02 February 2006

hi there
Can anyone please help. Just bought a Nokia N70 off Ebay......I know i shouldn't have but its too late now i've bought it 🙄 .

The problem is the shortcut for INTERNET on the home page just doesnt work. I'm on the WEB & WALK TARIFF with T- Mobile.

The only way i can get on the Internet is by flicking through the menu and then getting online which is the long route.

Anyone know why this Internet shortcut doesnt work? Im beginning to think the person that sold me it may have deleted something on the phone which may have caused this INTERNET shortcut not to work?

I can also see the phone has previously been paired up to a TOMTOM and a PC.

Also is there a way the phone can be set back to its factory settings in order for this Internet shortcut to work??

Any help much appreciated.

"0" does work but it brings me to connecting to the web.......Is this the same as connecting to T-Zones? as i am on the web & walk tariff with T-mobile.

I also tried the other method of holding the 3 keys and also dialing a code which restores the phone back to factory settings but the Shortcut INTERNET key still doesn't work after doing all this.

Arrrrggghhhh! Please help! :frown:

Ok then, maybe this will work...

Had a look at the t-zone uk site..my fear was that you would need an application to run t-zone, but it looks like it would probably be an access point that you can dial into..I could be wrong, Im in Australia and cant access the service to test..

But if im right try this..

First go to settings/connection/acces points and see if you have something labelled t-zone or similar...if you havent we'll have set that up (should this be how it works)or my idea will fail.

If you have, exit settings and launch the default browser (hold 0).. click left softkey to bring up options...scroll down to settings. First option should be access point...choose the one called something like t-zone..

Exit and try to relaunch browser with long 0 press... hopefully that should connect you to the t-zone server. From there you may need there homepage..might be in your bookmarks maybe.

You could also try assigning opera to a softkey or the scroll key in settings/phone/standby mode

Opera is free for N70 and should already be in your phone, otherwise search google for

N70 opera 8.5

You should find a link to operas site easy enough..

Set its access point to your t-zone access point and see if that works better.

Lets you access http via wap unlike default browser. Handy for me with Vodafones tightass no gprs prepay crap im on....just try and access their Australian vflive email...

Cool dude, good luck
hope something works
