hello, ive just formated my 7610 with out backing anything up, is every thing gone for good or can i get them back. i've had the phone for over a year so you can imagine how much stuff 'was' on there. if any one could help that would be great.
cheers............:embarasse
If you formatted the phone, I'm afraid all data is gone and unrecoverable.
From now on, use PC Suite (http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite) to back up things to a PC (use its backup feature, use its image store feature, use it to synchronize contacts & calendar, use it to copy files from your phone).
I also back up the phone memory to a spare memory card from time time (+ the one I always keep in the phone), and occasionally I also copy all memory card contents to a PC using an USB card reader.
And I also back up the whole PC to a spare hard disk I have for that purpose + occasionally to DVDs.
What I don't often remember to do, but probably should, is to keep copies in different locations (in case of fire, or some other catastrophy like that).
Hardware breaks, so does storage. If data is important, as it often is, it is best to keep it in multiple places. If it is only on one storage medium in one place, when you loose it, it is hard or impossible to replace.
thanks dude, only noticed on the pc suite today.
nice 1.
