IM Settings

Unfortunately, the built-in Instant Messaging is a, so called, "Wireless Village" IM client. It can't connect directly to AOL or ICQ as they don't support the "Wireless Village" protocols/authentication (which are defined by the OMA, Open Mobile Alliance, http://www.openmobilealliance.org).

You could try a service like Yamigo (http://www.yamigo.com); I don't know if they can link to AOL or ICQ, too, though.

In general the idea with the built-in IM was that operators would set up their IM infrastructure/servers and perhaps even link to AOL, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo!, etc., but they haven't, so the IM client is mostly useless.
