6680 - Apps (tomtom) not opening properly

Hi all

I have a feeling this will be a lengthy, please bear with me!

I own a 6680, with a 512 Memory card. On this memory card I have TomTom installed, for which I use quite regularly.

Near enough every other time I start TomTom, it just flashes and goes back to the main menu page. I either have to remove and reinsert the mem card, or turn the phone off completely and then back on. And then it takes an age to boot up!!

Once I am in the tomtom app, its then another 50/50 chance of whether or not it will detect my Bluetooth GPS receiver.

Just seems a bit buggy all round. A couple of time it has just rebooted on me whilst in tomtom.

Do you think I need a firmware update for this phone, or is it knackered?

How to I check the current firmware level and what is the latest version? Is there anyway to update the firmware myself?

Thanks

Hong

Hey dude, for checking the current firmware versiosn you must just write this ( *#0000# ). once u do this you can see V 4.04.07 which is the latest version... But you may not have the latest, its not necessary.. You can't renew it yourself, but you must go to a mobile phone selling shop where they will do it for free... 😉

Thanks.

Yes, I am running an older firmware. Apparently the newer firmware enables apps to utilise more memory (ram) so it doesnt crash as much.

SO, Ill take it to local carphonewarehouse to get flashed|!

Cheers
