Hi,

Have just got an N70, currently locked to the Orange network. How can I go about unlocking it to all networks?? Also, I would like to remove all the Orange gumpf thats loaded onto this, and restore to factory software, I have read somewhere that this will improve the phones performance. How can I achieve this??

Many thanks
Chris

Don't know about unlocking but to get shot of the terrible orange homescreen you'll need to take it along to a Nokia service centre and get it reflashed with generic nokia firmware, these can be a local phone shop or somewhere like the Carphone Warehouse, there is a checker on the Nokia website. I personally couldn't be bothered with all that and cancelled the orange contract I had and sent the phone back as I was within the 14 day 'cool off period' and went with o2, the N70 they sent me has the latest firmware and apart from a theme virtually no modifications not even a logo on the case.

then really your screwed to orange. since its a brnad new phone (bb5) & no1 but the networks can un lock it remotely & direct unlockings is very hard to find.

I think, if i put my mums payg sim into it, i should be able to talk to orange and they should be able to do it. Will cost me 20 quid tho!!

That sound about right?
