Consider this an SOS/May-day -
I have a Nokia 6260 - out of the blue one day - it starts showing up the handsfree connected icon on the screen even though no headset/handsfree is connected to its pop-port. The deal is that the phone somehow thinks a headset is connected and all incoming calls/outgoing calls are routed to the in-existent handsfree, leaving me in a mess - not being able to make or answer any calls.
I restarted the phone, did a soft format - it stays stable for a while - keeps flashing "Enhancement not supported" for a million times and then finally the handsfree icon appears again and the phone goes into its zombie state of imagining that a handsfree is connected. Arghhh!!!!
Fact of the matter is that the phone is hell-bent on turning itself into a useless piece of metal - (if you are not able to answer/call on a phone - useless it is right?
The only plus point of this whole affair is that I can turn on the radio without connecting any headset - (only requires touching any pop-port pin with a piece of metal as the antenna and the radio sounds over the loudspeaker)
Now the question - anyone ever had the same issue? All the Imserbian-Nokia gurus here have any fixes/solutions for this one?
Fingers crossed - I wait.
