I wish to know how to alter, delete etc. the system files on the phone... so the files (when viewing on fileExplorer) on Z: drive - what program can get in and alter these files.
As many 3230 users would understand... that fucking BEEP as you receive a phone call or msg prior to the ringtone is damn annoying - and if i could only alter the system files - i could get rid of that damn BEEP. I hate the SOB.
Any help would be appreciated!

You can't alter, delete, etc., any files on the Z-drive with any software on the phone. The Z-drive is read-only memory (ROM).

oki doke...... any ideas on how to get rid of the BEEP - that is my major whinge about the phone... otherwise i love it and have never had a problem.
nope cant be removed, they put that on purposem you arent the only one that hates it
However, with the latest 3230 sw release (firmware), I heard the beep is much more quiet than it used to be.
Which is the latest firmware? I'm using 4.0526.2 and I don't feel it is reduced.
Has Nokia released the new firmware with the reduced one?

Ahhhh donkey crap! See if the system files could be altered - there is the 'warning.mp3' in the z:\System\Apps\Phone directory. I was hoping i could copy and paste with a silent mp3 file. DAMN!
