did not.

I was stranded for a couple of days, until I found advice on how to reset the phone.

I then proceeded to restore all the data from a recent backup - but the contacts and caller groups do not get restored, no matter what.

can anyone help please?

Thanks - this operating system must have been developed by a branch of microsoft it's so rubbish :frown:

What is ur phone model? How did u backup it? If from phone (menu + extra + memory + backup phone memory), it should work.
U mean none of ur contact get restored?
Strange?
Syncronized with outlook (windows)? PC suite? etc?

What is ur phone model?

6680

How did u backup it?

PCSuite *spits*

nope

Strange?

yup

Syncronized with outlook (windows)? PC suite? etc?

only with PCSuite. I have an older backup (smaller in size than the last one) and if I restore that one I can actually see my contacts, so I shall do that, but it's really odd.

also, when I go and look with PCSuite *spits* the Contacts part of my Phone Browser is empty - although now I have them on my phone.

one extra question, how do I get my contacts to sit on the mmc instead of the phone? I have tried doing "mark all" -> "copy to memory card" but when I go and look at the memory details, I only have 84 kb on the mmc, whereas there's 302 kb on the phone memory :frown:

There's no an error msg received when restore backup (last one)? Perhaps that u've corrupted backup file?

I can restore my contacts with "Syncronization" from PC suite with 3rd party such as Outlook and Lotus notes.

But when u restore contact backup on MMC, everything restored, right? Corrupted MMC?
