6680 synchronizing to computer

4 replies · 1,750 views · Started 09 March 2006

I installed PC suite using the CD i got with my Nokia 6680 and i encountered a problem synchronizing my phone to my computer.

It comes up with the prompt to connect the cable to the computer and the phone to the cable so ive done that and then it says 'note: the cable drivers are installed after you plug in the cable, this may take some time so please be patient'.

And then i wait....and wait.... and zzzzzz

20 minutes later and there is no sign of anything happening although the curser egg timer is still there when i hover over the window..

So why is it not synchronizing? Ive had a search of the forum and cant find anywhere its been posted before. Any help very welcome!

YOu did not tell about your system, so I make a couple of assumptions:
I assume you have CA-53 cable (DKU-2 also OK). But not DKU-5 or CA-42, they don't work with 6680.

I assume you have XP (preferably SP2 in it).

Go to www.nokia.com/pcsuite and donload PC Suite 6.7, PC Suite 6.5 is old version (it should work with your 6680, but since you have these problems, uninstall from add/remove programs the 6.5, then download 6.7 and install that.

and still the same probs

Sorry about not adding my PC specs. Its a Toshiba Satellite 1100 running on XP. The cable is the one that came with the phone, it seems to be charging the phone whilst connected to my PC but not synchronizing.

I read somewhere that having the cable and phone already plugged in whilst installing works despite what the prompt says, i will uninstall it all and do it this way.

if anyone knows of anything else i can try please let me know.

I will let you know how it goes..
