Hi im running tomtom version 5.2 gps driver 1.2 and the firmware on my n70 is 2.0539.1.2 19-10-05 RM-84. Im using a 3rd party gps reciever (which works perfect on my pda). I am experiencing the same problems as everyone else freezing up, lossing gps conection etc. i have tried everything that has been sugested in this forum and others but nothing seems to work. Is there a patch/fix out there ???????
i would like to add the software is a cracked version not original (why would you spend all that money on somthing that dont work properley ?) I HAVE considered buying the original but i can see from these and verious forums this is also a problem for the original software. Please let me know if there is a fix for this THANKS DAVE 😡
P.S
Im going to have the firmware updated tomorrow but i dont think this will fix it as others have had this done and still have these problems:con?

Dave,
If you've tried the usual reboot prior to launch, no bluetooth pairings, bluetooth switched off, let Tom Tom pair your GPS, no POI's aside from single set Speed Cameras... Then not sure what to suggest, altho I also removed the silly celebrity voices just in case and having just checked my phones firmware is: V 3.0546.2.3 18-11-05 RM-84.
All I can say is the majority of people, myself included, seem to have pretty reliable Tom Tom N70 connections when following those few caveats.
Good luck
Nick
Hi Took the phone in today to update the software and now its dead 😡
Have to wait arround 10 days for nokia to sort it :frown:
Sorry to hear about your phone. Maybe you might get it back with the new V5 firmware!
Can I ask what GPS receivers specifically you both are using? BT-77?
Jon
Hi im not sure what gps reciever it is it has a pic of the world on it in blue and white and uses a nokia battery. Ive been told it will come back with version 5 software, hope this cures the problem.
Yep you have the BT-77 - same as me - and a few others - that have the same problem. Please do let us know what happens with V5.
Cheers,
Jon
that BT77 seems to bring problems?
I saw on ebay you have 32 channel receivers and 16channel receivers, I don't know nothing about it but I assume the higher the channels the better?
I saw this one, its not BT77 (or maybe just a clone)

(about the link, just took the first 32channel receiver I saw)

It does indeed seem that most people who post about this problem have the BT-77 receiver.
How about this...

...which is what I have. Can't really fault it - cheap and cheerful. Without the workaround (reboot, clear pairings and so on), it disconnects at about 1-2 hour intervals. With the workaround, it's 100% reliable. Did a five hour journey without a single dropped connection.
Maybe worth a try?
Incidentally my firmware is v3.05, on O2 network.
seems good, I read it has 12channels when the newest receivers seem to have 32 channels. But when it works, it works 😊

Heh, quite. As many people have seen, their receivers can have all the channels in the world but it doesn't mean things will work any better.
